Primary sources only
Every rate, bracket, wage cap, and deduction comes from the agency that publishes it β the Kentucky Department of Revenue, the IRS, or the Social Security Administration. We do not source tax figures from other calculators, aggregators, or AI-generated summaries.
Show the math, not just the answer
Each result is itemized by withholding line so the number can be checked by hand. Where a calculation depends on a method choice β such as the percentage method for federal withholding β we say which method we used.
Verified before publication
New rates are checked against the published withholding formula for that tax year before they ship, and the calculator's output is spot-checked against worked examples.
Estimates, clearly labeled
This is an educational tool, not tax advice, and not a substitute for a CPA or your employer's payroll department. Real paychecks vary with employer-specific benefits, garnishments, and mid-year changes.
Independent of the products we mention
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by ADP, the IRS, or the Commonwealth of Kentucky. When we compare our results to another tool, we are describing a public calculator, not a partnership.
Corrected in the open
When we get something wrong, we fix the number and note what changed rather than quietly editing the page. Accuracy complaints take priority over new features.
